Sarah Jane
How are you feeling today?
Today, I appreciate what I have:
My health - physical, mental, + emotional.
A support system that I have had the privilege to cultivate.
A beautiful, safe and secure place to live.
A community of fellow childless women cheering me on.
What are you most proud of?
I am most proud that I have learned to be self-compassionate; that I have learned to be gentle with myself and with my body.
What is your biggest learning in life so far?
That cultivating a relationship with grief and loss is the foundation of embracing the life that I am living, as it allows me to be open, curious and compassionate.
What are your hopes for the future?
My hopes for the future are that I continue to have good health and pursue opportunities that spark my curiosity, creativity and happiness.
What would you tell your younger self?
I would tell my younger self to stop worrying about other people's thoughts. For one, they aren't thinking about you nearly as much as you think they are, and two, you are the one living your life, make yourself happy first.
When or where are you happiest?
The happiest part of each day is the time I spend outside with my dog, Leo. Whether in the woods, at the beach, on the sea or at the top of a mountain, I can be myself and am wholly accepted.
What would you like to say to wider society?
Listen more than you speak. Look for similarities while recognizing and honouring the differences.
