Naomi
How are you feeling today?
I'm feeling hopeful and inspired.
What are you most proud of?
My ability to hold space for myself and others as we journey through life and make our way forward after going through some really hard situations.
What is your biggest learning in life so far?
There is nothing any more wrong with you than anyone else. For the longest time I thought something was terribly wrong with me and so that's why I haven't found a life partner, but I look around and see that's not true and never was. Same with not having kids.
What are your hopes for the future?
My hope is to continue to live an adventurous and creative life that is full of love and joy.
What would you tell your younger self.
Lil Nome, you've done an awesome job trusting your gut and staying true to yourself. I'm proud of you for blazing your own path even though you didn't know you were. You were just living life to the full, one step at a time. There will be rough season you'll learn a lot from and will take you into the next season with more strength and assurance that'll you'll figure it out. Don't give up, just keep going to see what happens. You have the capacity to live this human experience well.
When or where are you happiest?
Walking down side streets in cities I've never been and stumbling across a creative space that feeds the soul. And a good hike in the mountains breathing the fresh air.
What would you like to say to wider society?
Lead with empathy, care and compassion when meeting someone who lives differently from you. I get that being single over 40 and childless is not the norm, yet it doesn't mean I'm always sad and lonely, those are all common to the human experience just like love, joy and happiness. We're all just people in the end so it would be nice to get rid of the relational and parenthood hierarchy. I would love to celebrate individuals for their unique giftings and what they contribute to the collective instead of just the unit, if you will.
