Berenice
How are you feeling today?
Hopeful. I am home after organising a gathering in London with childless friends. It has been quite a month!
What are you most proud of?
That this person who was only good at daydreaming in school has a MA in Design and Typography which was the first time I spoke about childlessness to create Walk In Our Shoes. It was a huge leap of faith but it opened up unexpected journeys, and a sense of security and confidence in my craft that I wasn't expecting. And of course, The Full Stop and my friendship with Michael and Sarah.
What is your biggest learning in life so far?
Grief is a bag. Sometimes it is heavy and we need help to carry it.
What are your hopes for the future?
For non-parenting and reproductive rights to be a protected characteristic. A healed planet. The invention of low carbon teleporting to give hugs in person. To keep being creative and to be a good friend. More Full Stop!
What would you tell your younger self?
Embrace the quirky name and your mystery curls. Yes, you will get a dog and she's worth the wait.
When or where are you happiest?
On the beach at Cart Gap with my rescue dog, Lady Molly Lickalot. After each podcast recording or realising The Full Stop is helping people. In amongst the tears, selfies and hugs from friends near and far, there can be many smiles.
What would you like to say to wider society?
Listen.
