Dawn

How are you feeling today?

I’m feeling pensive, a little sad that I don’t appear to be important in my families life, pretty invisible in fact as I feel that as the only childless sibling im not important in the grand scheme of things until needed, but also looking forward to my long weekend away with my lovely friends.

What are you most proud of?

I’m most proud of owning my own home, running 16 marathons and also I’m a Samaritan volunteer. Not bad for someone who was bullied at school, suffers from anxiety and was awful at sport at school.

What is your biggest learning in life so far?

lf you want a life you have to go and get it.

What are your hopes for the future?

To be happy and content with my life which means finding some inner peace but also a work/life balance. I seem to be throwing myself into my very stressful job and forgetting to actually have a personal life so I need to be kind to myself and change, more self care needed.

What would you tell your younger self?

Don’t look back - look forward, don’t worry about what other people think of you, learn to say NO and above all try and have no regrets.

When or where are you happiest?

I’m happiest running with a friend in the countryside or curled up with my lovely cat and a good book.

What would you like to say to wider society?

Firstly please see us - please listen - and please, please don’t mention you had a friend who tried for a baby and had one when they stopped trying, or you can adopt, and also please don’t feel we want you to have less rights because we want some equality. We don’t want that. We want to walk the same path in life together, supporting each other not fighting against each other as there’s enough people in life doing that already.
